Since it’s already December I figured I’d pass on posting anything about Thanksgiving, but that was before I remembered there was a picture of me and my Sweater Buddy on camera.  Lucky was less than pleased to pose with me.

I’m more of a cat-person than a dog-person but I always get jealous of how dog owners travel with their pets, take them out to eat, and have all their dogs hang out together.

Case in point!

Especially since things like this tend to happen to my cats if I force them to travel or venture outside.

So I might have gotten a little dog-camera friendly on Thanksgiving.

And one for the money shot.

Also, I just wanted to say a big thank you to Michelle and Brian for once again opening up your home and inviting us to share in your family’s Thanksgiving.  We are truly lucky to have friends like you.

Things said by the conductor over the intercom on my train…

While stuck underground near GCS for 15 minutes this morning.

  • Oh man, this is really bad.
  • I don’t know what to do man, I can’t get this started.
  • I’m telling you – we aren’t moving.
  • Okay, maybe this’ll work – keep your fingers crossed, cause otherwise I think we are going to be stranded here.

This guy was not inspiring confidences this morning.

In anticipation of my longer commute time I went a little overboard on the book shopping front during my week off.  This group doesn’t include the stacks of books currently on bookshelves in my house that I haven’t read yet.

I’m so excited to have time to just read though!  If I don’t fall asleep on the train rides instead… which I’ve been known to do.

Moving up in the world

“We’ve certainly come a long way in the last 6 years, from staying 5 people to a bedroom at the red roof inn because we weren’t willing to spend over $10 each for a hotel room.”

My favorite quote from this past wedding weekend, as commented on when we were discussing how nice the Hilton was that we were staying at. I wasn’t at that particular red roof inn party but definitely had very similar experiences during and right after college. This time everyone stayed at max 2 to a bedroom. Clearly we are all moving up in the world. (Baby steps people, baby steps.)

I’ve learned that I’m just to old for this…

I think it’s been a long time since I’ve done back to back nights of crazy partying.  A Friday night out to 84 Park (owner is Jon Bon Jovi’s brother) and Butterfield 8 followed by a BBQ party at our house Saturday night meant that after waking up for a couple hours this morning – I passed out until about 2 PM.  And I’m still exhausted.  But that means its a perfect day to catch up on social media and E News.
